Hello world

Yes I'm back after what, 3 months? If you are looking for entertainment in a long post, SORRY! You are going to be disappointed because the only reason I am blogging at this time right in the midst of my last exams is just to address some (mundane to you but very interesting to me) stuff going on in my life.

So the thing is, when I was young, ( YES I AM DIGRESSING) I once read a book called the giving tree in the library ... I was so touched by the giving tree.

Okay I know it's just a story and there's no such thing as a giving tree because ALL trees are giving to us and that's what makes nature but this tree was bloody special because it gave its all to a boy who became a man and then became old.

When the boy was still a boy, it played with the tree and they both were happy. As the boy grew older, the tree continued to give to the boy, but somehow it was all masked out to the boy. Yet the tree continue to give, until the boy is now old, and then realize how much the tree has given and how time will never go back to when the tree was young and strong again. ISN'T THAT JUST SO SAD? It's so much like us and our parents...when we were young, we play together and we were happy. During our teenage years, we stop talking to them, but they are always there supporting us. When we grew older, have our own family, and our parents grow old and frail, then we look back and say, how I wish we were all young again. Okay, if you are convinced enough that whatever I had typed is pretty touching, you should watch this video then! THE GIVING TREE! Looks exactly like that book, except it's moving.

Tell me you love it!

So....back to about me right, my euro trip in the next 2 months are more or less settled, I still have to plan and book tickets so that's the tricky part. Other than that, my Final Year Project is settled, working on Dengue, some structural aspect as if you care. Then my boyfriend is going to graduate and he has already found a job so I can relax for the rest of my life- NOT. I almost got a job but got rejected because they chose some dicks over me during the assessment centre where we had to pretend to be in the meeting and act like the leader, so I have to keep trying again. And my best friend is walking down the aisle really soon next year, yipee! I recently almost got conned into buying a fake Gucci bag on ebay, I also felt sad because my complexion is not getting any better for the past few months ( or years for that matter), my kitchen at home is kinda infested with cockroaches and no one knows what to do about it, and that pretty much sums up what interesting things you need to know about me and people around me.

I also realised that if I get a straight A's for this exam and my FYP I still will not make it to where I had wanted to. So, RELAX LAH! B+ for everything CAN ALREADY! Therefore I am blogging now instead of worrying my ass off like the rest of my classmates who are dying to drive up their cGPA in the bid to get that first or 2nd upper they are aiming for so that they can get a good job only to be disappointed when they realised that their cGPA won't get them far in life, although I am not saying that my lousy grades will, but i guess it will take alot more than that, plus I can safely tell you that being academically briliant does not make you a smart person. It just mean that you know how to do well in exams. period. I am clearly bitter as you can see, but I think I have made my point already so I shall stop here.

Good night world.

Inside where?

Photobucket
Must take photos! But with the pillar instead of this: ( if you had seem my facebook photos! We passed by this when we went to the paranakan museum)

Photobucket
In fact...do you know this is functional? The only one of its kind left in the entire Singapore. Drop your mail in here next time you are City Hall area!

I love visiting museums, and you should too!! Museums are packed with endless little information and pictures and artifacts that are painstakingly collated together and presented. Its a low cost and fun destination to spend your weekends afternoon at.

The original plan was to museum hop from here to National Musuem of Singapore then to Singapore Art Museum (or SAM). I was hoping to catch the couture gallery at NSM but it had unfortunately ended just last sunday. Damn. Oh well, and nothing at SAM really interest me now so I guess I will visit it again next month or something when new exhibits arrive.

Me and Dilys had visited the Paranakan and Toys museum together already and this is our 3rd. She said she is not particularly interested in them but liar, she enjoys all our trips.

All in all, the philatelic museum is rather small but still packed with enough little stuff to see and touch for 1-2 hours depending on your patience to read and how fast your camera takes photos. Haha. The building is really a pretty place, and the current exhibits are interesting. It is also extremely family friendly with many many many kids-friendly activites which of course, does not interest me at all. I would like to see something more substantial but I guess it's good enough for a relaxing walk.

Many many stamps you will see... including familiar characters:

The peanuts gang

Lord of the rings
Photobucket

Harry Potter
Photobucket

Hollywood legends and ageless beauties

Plus the latest special edition:

Photobucket

No, it's a mailbox!

Photobucket

Ok! now activity time.
Before developing a stamp... people send in designs and the favorite is chosen for print. The following are 4 designs sent in, can you guessed which one was finally selected by the council for print in conjunction with the Olympics Athens?

Photobucket

well,

Photobucket

If you had chosen the top left one.
( don't worry, me and Dilys got all wrong till the last choice)

How about these 4? Which one is chosen for print to commemorate National day?

Photobucket

I know you got this wrong!

Photobucket

If only you had chosen this:
